Gentle Style Acupuncture

Dr. Chin utilizes the gentlest style of Japanese acupuncture with tiny hair thin pins that some patients cannot even feel during placement. The pins are NOT spun or twirled when placed, so it is very well accepted by young children and those who are timid of needle placement.

Trigger Point Acupuncture

Trigger Point Acupuncture is a technique similar to “Dry Needling” which is beneficial for some people who have trigger points, or painful knots in their muscles. This is a more aggressive technique that can help many who play sports, such as football, hockey, or soccer because it decreases muscle pain. Trigger point acupuncture has been found to be as effective as trigger point injections but with less bleeding and no medication. It can also reduce recovery time significantly.

Electroacupuncture

Electroacupuncture is a method of passing a small electrical current through the needles to stimulate the nerve endings directly though a small device, similar to a “TENS”, or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. It is very helpful in patients who need a stronger treatment, such as some patients with difficult to treat chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia, or for some acute pain conditions.

Medical Consulting

Dr. Chin provides medical consulting as a part of treatment for her patients. Additional Medical Consulting for complex cases may be requested.
